can I travel with H1B after filing I-485?

Folks, I need to travel sometime in February and I can't cancel the trip. My I-485 is pending and I don't know if I can use my H1B to travel. My visa is expired though. Can I get an updated stamp at the consulate and come back?

Generally, it should be okay. You just need to make sure that your H-1B is valid when you leave and return to the US, and you return to the US to work for the same employer.

yea...I might use AP to come back because I really don't want to go through consular processing because I heard there is a high chance of your visa being checked. Can't afford being stuck outside the U.S. for two months.
