Ok to use AP to travel? I am on H1B

I really want to avoid the hassle of getting H1B stamping at the consulate because the chance of getting checked is super high. Don't want to get stuck in India for an extended period of time.
I got my AP already from my I-485. What is the risk of using it to travel instead of H1B?

to Sandra:

That's not a good idea. If you use AP, the moment you enter America, your visa will be invalidated. And H1B is a good visa to have.

I'm not a lawyer so I don't know 100% but I heard something like that from my friends who had H1B

to Sandra:

Get the stamp and use H1B to travel. These days, travelling can be much more of a trouble than before. Seriously. With this government, you would want to make sure that every trip-related detail is well arranged and safe before you leave your front door.
