Extending F visa after filing I-485

Does anyone know if you can extend your F-1 after filing I-485? What should I do if I can't extend it? Will I have to apply for EAD? THANKS

You probably can't extend your F1 after filing I-485 due to conflicting intent. You can apply for EAD with I-485 to work if you want.
