Good recommenders

Would the nationality of recommenders matter? In particular, if my recommenders are not from the U.S, would that be a disadvantage?

No. Experts from other countries would count as well, wouldn't they? I plan to ask some Chinese scholars for my recommendation letters.......It should be good for my case, shouldn't it????

I mean, if they are really prestigious scholars in my field???
