Should I apply for STEM before I-140?!!

Hi,
I know that F-1 visa is nonimmigrant visa, and thus applying for STEM may conflict with GC application?!! Although I want to file I-140 ASAP, I don't want to jeopardize my eligibility for STEM. Can I apply for STEM after filing I-140?

I think it's the same as OPT. You need to ask you uni if they will grant you STEM after you have filed I-140.
