Visa change

Hi there! I want to know the restrictions that would apply to my dependent's visa status during the green card application. My wife might change from F-2, as my dependent to a J-1 visa of her own, will she face any problems while doing so?

I don't think she's gonna face huge problems. While filing I-140 demonstrates your immigrant intent, it is not supposed to project immigrant intent on your wife. Although it is something that the officer might take into consideration, it is quite rare to see people's J-1 visa got rejected simply because of spouse's I-140 petition.
