Should I file EB-2 NIW? i'm from India

Hi guys, I've been wondering whether or not to apply for EB-2 NIW recently. I don't think I can apply for EB-1 because my credentials are kinda weak but there's a large backlog for Indian nationals in the EB-2 NIW category. I really want to start my green card process soon. What should I do?

Filing NIW might be helpful, because if it gets approved then you will get an earlier priority date. Of course you will still need to wait for many years for your PD to get current under EB-2, but if you are able to file EB-1 later, you can use your PD from your approved EB-2 for your EB-1.

Which visa are you holding? If it is H-1B then there is an additional benefit. You can also extend your H-1B beyond the 6th year cap based on your approved NIW. Having an approved NIW is not bad if you are not filing EB-1.
