Can I travel outside US if I file under EB-2? (I'm Indian)

I originally planned to file under EB-1 but my attorney said my case is weak and suggested I file EB-2 instead. But I heard that I cannot travel outside the US after I file I-140. Does this mean I have to stay in the US and not travel for about 10+ years?? That will be hard for me and I'm not sure if I can keep a valid visa for that long :(

Hi! Which visa do you hold? Since the wait time is really long under EB-2, I think it is okay to travel abroad with a valid visa.

I am on OPT STEM expiration date is JUL-02-2020, didn't get this year's H1B but I will try again next year.
