I got a query. My F-1 visa is getting expired soon, and I don't have the possibility of getting another visa at this point. Therefore, I am considering going out of the U.S, probably to Canada or Australia as I have received good offers. I am aware that I can file my I-140 from there, and do IVP, but I'm not sure in how much time do I have to come to the U.S after my IVP gets approved. For instance, if I want to wait for a year or so after my IVP gets approved, can I do that, or do I have to come to U.S immediately after the IVP approval? Looking forward to some expert opinion. Thanks!

You'll need to enter the U.S. with your immigrant visa within 6 months after your immigrant visa is issued.

You will get an immigration visa and it has a validity period, and yeah it's usually 6 months after you get the visa.
