Hey guys, I work in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics, and it is extremely difficult to get citations in my field. I found out that having lesser number of citations can be a major setback in GC application process :( Is there no way I can prove to the USCIS that my field has low citation climate? Would they only look at my citation count?

You can try to explain the low citation climate of your field in your petition letter, but I've heard that some immigration officers have bias against cases with very few citations and they tend to reject such cases regardless the nature of your field.
How many citations do you have now? Are you filing EB-1 or EB-2?

Citations count is a major factor when they look at your credentials and so there's a chance that the immigration officer may take your low citation count into consideration even though you managed to prove that your field has low citation climate.
