commercialized patents

Dear all,
I have a patent that I filed during my PhD with my advisor that was used in a company whose owner is my advisor's friend and they wanted to commercialize that study into products. I haven't been in contact with my PhD advisor for a while and I'm not sure if there is any documentation for the use of that patent. Should I try to contact the advisor? What should I submit for the patent?

You should definitely try contacting your advisor. Any evidence is better than nothing. Do you have the patent paperwork with your name on it?

need to check with my advisor, but if my name is on the paperwork, I just need to submit that paperwork? Anything else?
