Want to add husband to I-485 application

My husband is currently in China, doing his two year requirement and I am in the U.S. and I have submitted my I-485. Since my I-485 is processing, can my husband come to the U.S. to file I-485 with me?

Has he finished his 2 year requirement? If not then my understanding is that he cannot file I-485 before he fulfills the requirement.
