Filing asylum and I-485 at the same time?

I have an approved EB-2 NIW and I am thinking about filing I-485 soon. I'm also considering applying for asylum. Does anyone know if I can apply for both asylum and I-485?

Yeah you apply for I-485 and asylum at the same time. But I heard from a friend that filing asylum might delay your I-485 process, so you will need to wait longer for I-485 approval. I think you might want to consult an attorney before filing both to make sure tho
