Emergency travel plans

I have an approved EB-2 NIW but I have not filed I-485 yet. I also have a valid J-1 visa. However, my mum suddenly fell ill and I want to travel back to the UK to see her. I know I can apply for a travel document when I apply for I-485 but I heard it takes months to get it. Is there anyway I can travel sooner?
