Asylum applications

Hi. Does anyone know how long it takes to process asylum applications? I applied for asylum in 2017 and it has just been pending since then. It's a good thing I did because I needed the work document based on the asylum to work after my F-1 OPT expired in February 2018. So does anyone know how much longer I will need to wait?

Also, is it possible for me to get a green card from EB-2 NIW? Would it be faster?
