My friend said that I should still be able to travel on J-1 after I file my EB-2 case. But I am a little skeptical about this. Doesn't the I-140 show intention to immigrate which is not allowed with J-1? Can I still travel with my J-1 (subject to the two year rule) after I file my EB-2? I am from India and hoping to get earlier PD with my EB-2.

to Miriam:

Hello! I agree with your friend. I read somewhere that you can travel on J-1 if your PD is not current. You can bring evidence to show that you have connections to your home country and that you intend to return there once your J-1 program ends to show that you have no intent to immigrate.
